Been looking at the chassis rails joining the rear xmember and got a bit happy with a hammer. The other one is starting to perforate as well. Chassis further along looks ok, looks like might be time for a new xmember and short extensions unless I uncover anything else further up
I've not got the time to take it on as a project, what's the current going rate to get it done at specialist?

Like the shed modifications to fit the tractor...
If I changed the doors to my garage I could get the Defender in but the asbestos roof would concertina up into a cloud of white dust courtesy of my roof rack o_O
Plan B is just to build a Landy shaped shed down the garden

Just got back from the local specialist with a list of things needing doing to the Defender o_O
Rear crossmember with long extensions
body mount crossmember
Fuel regulator leaking
Got her booked in as MOT next month, it's only money :(

Just scraped wax oil off the VIN stamp. I have also noticed it is coming off in places where it has dried out  nuvver job :D

Just negotiated my insurance renewal down by £90, which was good. What always forms a part of these conversations is the woman on the other end of the phone going through my details which they already have about the make and model, the yearly mileage and my postcode and then coming up with a lower figure. I wonder why they don't just save everybody's time and just give you the lower figure at the start of the phone call. Maybe they want to make it look like it's a sophisticated actuarial process rather than 'can you knock a bit off?' 'oh alright then'.

I did nothing as such, but did visit Malvern 4x4 Spares day and came home with a TD5 Disco fuel sender/pump spanner, a TD5 engine cover and another 90 degree welding magnet for work.
£15 for the spanner, £4.50 for the magnet and a tenner for the engine cover.
Then when i got home forked out another £12.54 for the three bolts and grommets to keep it in place.
Hopefully they'll be applied to the Disco next weekend, along with the new fuel pump!

No you have it the wrong way round. It's "i wonder how much more we can charge them before they bugger off elsewhere?"
Personally, my Disco insurance renewed last week. I didn't bother to quibble, given that THEY reduced it from £266.54 (last year's quote) down to £179.20 all on their own!

I’ve just placed a crop of container radish in the back of mine as it’s off the road and a heat box in the sun :D
So its now o'fishally a green house?

Make sure yer put some drain holes int bottom so it don't flood when yer watering.

This evening I made a thingy for pulling the timing sprocket off the injector pump to get it sent off for a service.

Just passed MOT and taxed. This after an 18mth/1600hr rebuild/refurbishment. I super chuffed, it's been bloody hard graft...lots of blood, sweat, some terrible use of English...and a much reduced bank balance. Now good to go to the French Alpes at sparrow's fart this Thursday morning...:)

I backed mine into the garage and then out again, still not enough room

Rebuild/build bigger garage or move house. Though here's an idea from friend who has a very smart VW campervan...he lowered his garage floor using a concrete cutter, laid some self levelling resin finish and now the campervan has plenty of room. Quite a novel idea...

It goes in ok, but I only have 3’ available at the front for tinkering. As I planned to pull the engine I’m somewhere between indoors and kerbside motors.
