ok,i have asked another guru to get in touch with you.hang on and i will see what he says.;) left click on the members name and all will be revealed.

Today I replaced the radio cassette player with a CD player, replaced the gear knob and bought a tow rope, jump cables, hi vis jacket, jerry can (filled that up).

Just in case ;)

fitted the starter solenoid repair kit on the discovery td5. I used the complete kit but there are a lot of bits that i didn't really need but for the few extra quid I thought it was worth having them just in case. its a really easy job and the instructions are very easy to follow. The old contacts were that worn it was amazing that it started at all.

Makes me wonder how many people have been conned into having new starter motors when £10 would of fixed it.

Took all the smaller bits off mine, tow bar, camera mount, 'bits and bobs' etc ...

The weekend will be tyres and lift kit off.

Stupid thing .. I also fixed the bonnet, so it opens much more easily from the handle .. cable was stuck at an awkward angle, probably always had been, so removed it, replaced it and job's a good 'un .. Shoulda done it 10 years ago, not when I'm getting another ... ;)
