Finished repairing the doors, refitted the door cards - took forever to get the sodding things to shut properly.

Fitted the rear door threshold strip and rubber seal.

Fitted one of the replacement felt sliders in the side windows- what a faff.

Fitted load space mat and floor mats, plus started the soundproofing.

Knackered - drinking Gin and watching the sunset over my shrinking bank balance….

Swapped this for a 300tdi one and now the clutch works.

And wired in my split charge relay, still debating whether to connect the eberspacher, or just buy a better sleeping bag???

I opened the garage and sorted the defender. I'm going to say it.... at 19:22 it was oil leak free, even risked no cover on the drive:cool: ! I know every one calm down . Let me enjoy the night it might change in the morning. I also have two side doors which my brother has sorted for me! :D

The cheap Chinese versions work well. There are a few in the forum that use them & there are some write ups
It came with a eberspacher d1, that just needed a service, but it only has a off/on and thermostat, problem is, a timer costs the same as 2x Chinese ones!

Just don't know about leaving one running while asleep in ito_Oo_O

I use the thermostat. But normally switch mine off on a night so the battery don’t go flat.(fitted to the horse lorry)

Well yesterday a friend of mine came over and I assisted him changing the P gasket, core plug, water pump, thermostat, timing belt and radiator. The radiator was goosed but you would not know how much until you put a screw driver into the vanes.

All went well until we realised the lower hose I had purchased was not the same as what had come off. It had to come off and the original refitted - thankfully it seemed in good condition. We got the cowl and fan back on then filled the system with coolant. As we were finishing filling up we noticed coolant leaking out. We could not figure out where it was coming from as it looked to be from the alternator! We looked and looked but couldn't figure out where it was coming from.

B******s, top hose, fan and cowl off and we were trying to see where the leak was from. Not from the water pump and not from the P gasket. WTF! Feeling around the joints and screws the there it was - after all the messing around with the bottom hose, I had not tightened the jubilee clip to the water pump - what a c**t! At least it was not a joint.

Lost about 2lts of coolant and an hour in time, but jobs done now.

Note to self - when ordering anything for the 300tdi, some things are are specific to disco or defender! And stop being a c**t!!!

Trying to find we're this shud plug in too? Or? ive cut it outa the loom were does it wire to pls help?be a lot happier

You being lazy arse. It's been 30degsC and a bit in the garden today. Number two nephew and I had loaded and barrowed 3tonnes of clay, rock, brick and concrete crud into the 6yard skip by 11.05 this morning. Then shifted and skipped an old shed...had a fine lunch...then back to work skipping 14x barrow loads of dead vegetation. Then shifted and cleaned ~22 stored Siberian larch sleepers...

Here, slight problem...they'd been stored under sheets of dpm and rats had decided to use the wood as a **** pots and the off the ground area for turding. Now my sleepers are heavily stained. Think I'll need to builders acid to remove the rat **** stains...:(

30degsC...
