When you consider that just about everything will need replacing that makes it worth pretty much nothing. All you're really buying is the V5 and the title to it. As said before for 650 quid you should get a running, on the road, useable 2a that you can drive about in until you've decided what you want to do with it.

the question for me is: do I buy the chassis in the UK and ship it, alomg with the landy or do I ask my father nicely if i can dump the whole lot on his front yard and work on it when i pop over every now and again!

i'd recommend getting the whole project moved out to as close as your home as possible, even if its on yer front lawn!! :p i've found now adays i can only manage to find a spare 5 minutes here and there to get anything done but as i've now got everything just out the back door its not too bad. i used to keep most of my stuff a couple of miles down the road but it takes some much more time to just get anything done as you need to make more of an effort!! :D

Tut, mine goes perfectly well up hills. I even overtook something up a hill the other day. Fair enough it was an articulated lorry, but it still counts!

It does seem a bit pricey, but from the pictures the bodywork looks very straight and original. If the bulkhead is not too bad and especially if that bodywork is not full of filler, then I'd try and negotiate a lower price for it. It looks superficially bad, but if that paintwork is good underneath all that grime it would be a major plus point. Unmolested Series IIs and IIAs are quite rare now and that looks to me like it could be made into a really nice one with a new chassis and a general overhaul.
