Just thought I'd say hello and introduce myself; I'm Neil!

I picked up my first Landy at the weekend, a 300 tdi Station Wagon.
I've wanted a Defender for years but could never justify it as it would have been a 2nd car for me. But, as my 'normal' car started to make demands on my wallet I decided to sell it and start commuting by train. Thus I was set free from 'normal' cars and became able to buy my Landy! Although I know there will still be demands on my wallet, it feels acceptable because I feel it will be more like a hobby!

I enjoy photography too, so my Landy will hopefully help me reach those parts others cannot reach! I'm also looking forward to some camping trips with the family and the truck.

I'm clueless mechanically, but a couple of friends who know their stuff have given the truck a good look over and identified a few things that need doing, hopefully it will be sorted out in a couple of weeks. After that it's on with tidying up the interior.

Looking forward to sharing all my trial and tribulations and reading about everyone else's. If this forum is anything like the photography one I'm on, I look forward to all the good advice.

Neil

welcome, keep that wallet well stocked and enjoy your new purchase they're addictive you know...tic tic aagh!

Welcome to the mad house:D:D:D

Just a couple of things though, it is NOT a 'Truck':eek::eek:, and I doubt this is like any other forum your on:p:p.
BUT there is more help and advice knocking about on here than you will ever need, just make sure you engage your sense of humour and don a Rhinoceros skin overcoat, oh and have a quick search before you ask what may be a daft question;);)

Welcome! I too have recently taken on a 300tdi (Secretly I call it a truck too ;) but not on here)
Not having to use a car every day is the best thing if you don't want to end up hating a car.

Ha ha:welcome2:Neil , i too get told off for calling the 90 " the truck " i too am a photography fan and use my 90 to reach those wild places where no bugger else goes ... good luck with yours.

Great you can take piccys of all the repairs you carry out for others to see and learn from. Jobs a good un.
I too have a defender 90 truck jeep and it keeps me very busy indeed.

Oh and welcome. You will like it here, think of it as the hotel california!

Thanks for the welcome everyone.
I'll try and watch my language, ie I wont call it a truck!

For those who asked I'm in Liverpool, no doubt I'll be looking up the local owners club some time soon!
