Pictures of one of Philip's water pipes from his 4.0 V8 Thor engine.

The damage was done before he bought it and he does run the correct coolant, but imagine what is happening inside the cooling system!

The trouble is that they rot from the inside, same as the block etc.

The other pipe is 'soft', you can push a fingernail into it.

OAT is specified for the later V8's, particularly the 'Thor' engines.

May not refer to earlier machinery.

Earlier gems can use oat and mine has for years. Problems arise with the inevitable water loss. I'm loosing a pint a week do I top up with water or antifreeze mix. After 6months it's all water and corroding everything. Blue antifreeze is good as well but does need changing a bit more often.

Drop some UV dye in the water and check it isn't turning up in your oil.
