Sorry guys I posted a requset list on the forum site, wasn't really about buying but more about advice on what to buy. Maybe it was me but it seems to of been removed. It really was there for advice on where and what to buy?

Good evening :)

I can't find any topics that you have created that are requesting ideas as for bits and bobs to buy and it doesn't look like it's been moved to the 'wanted' section either (link: Land Rovers For Sale - Land Rovers - Wanted - Powered by PhotoPost Classifieds) so why don't you start a new one here! What kind of info are you after and what kind of things are you going to be using your new pride and joy for? One thing it will more than likely need is a good service so that's always a good place to start - always look after the mechanics before the cosmetics ;)

I don't think that you can go wrong with a nice chunky set of tyres. Although some brands and styles can be quite costly, it should make a drastic difference to the overall appearance of your landy. I found a set of four 235x85xr16 all terrain Enduro Runway tyres on the net, brand new and it cost me £300 for the lot. You can always whack a couple of spotlights on it somewhere or maybe even fit a light bar above the windscreen. The possibilities are endless, it just depends on what you want it to look like and how much you are prepared to spend. I've just got mine looking how I've always wanted it to look following just over three years of ownership. What started out as a bit of an untidy yellow 90 with an old n/a engine is now a nice, nato green power house with a 200tdi range rover engine sat under the bonnet.

There are also numerous parts websites:

Remember that in this game, you tend to get what you pay for. If you can buy a Britpart (aka ****part) component such as a lift pump for £15 for example, you'll usually be able to pay an extra fifteen quid or so for a far better quality component such as a Delphi, that will last around five or six times longer. Allmakes4x4 are a relatively new 'cheap' supplier and they are quite good in some areas although I have, of late, started to think that they are becoming the new Britpart.

The 90 has been serviced every year for its life and has documentation to say so. wanted to get black wheels to contrast against the green paint. The shocks and coils need replacing and it needs a good adjustable tow hitch. And of course the stereo remains a huge head ache!
