RR L322 2006 Td6
What gearbox do I have ??? GM / ZF ??? How can I tell I cant see any stamps from under the car
Can it be done by Reg or Vin ??

From what I can remember the td6 has the chocolate Gm box and the v8 and later td6 the zf but it may be the other way round, hopefully some one else with an l322 will be along soon to help.

All TD6 had the GM box. Unfortunately the box is not really that robust, they normally need a rebuild at about 100k miles unless very well looked after.
The TDV8's all had ZF gearboxes which is a stronger box and can go well past 200k miles if services regularly

I have a receipt for a replacement about 75k ago I just got the RR and im looking to carry out a service replacing the ATF and filter replace any recommendations on fluid ?? ( opens door to Gmacz )

Hi

Read my posts if you can? They asked about oils etc and what I finally fitted
I found a good oil and my transmission went really well
Also I fitted genuine filter. / strainer and learned on this site how to fill and check that I had correct oil levels etc

I had an omega BMW diesel with the GM box....
It was a box they used that only just dealt with the torque. Hence the reason why the 3.0ltr GM box was used to upgrade using the 2.5td bell housing.. hmm GM... Cheaper gearbox I think. As with most things now. It's economic for who?o_O:mad:
