Hi folks, anyone able to identify this hole on my 59 series 2 gearbox? Can’t seem to locate it on the workshop manual. Any advice on the proper plug? It drives pretty well without being able to keep oil in it, but probably should be addressed :)

Lol, trying to remember from my old series , was that for when u go wading to prevent water ingress on the plates then remove it after

been a long time since I had my series

fingers crossed I’ll get something right for a change;)
Amazing. Thanks so much!

Flywheel drain hole, you can get them from a plumbers merchant for pennies, cant remember the size though

Its actually a wading plug.....if you going in deep water....fit the plug.....keeps the water away from the clutch.....the bung is usualy screwed into a plate nearby.
