ah think someone thought it was a good idea but i don't think yer mot bloke would.. over to stig...

Just wondering How rusty can your bulkhead be, before the MOT man isnt happy?

Mines been patched in both foot wells, and you cant actually see through it from inside, but from underneath you can see where the old metal has rusted through?

Hmmmm Only Down Road from me :D,

In some aspects it is a brilliant Idea Id Buy I would use it on a Rebuild, Imagine it Galvanised chassis, And Fibreglass bulkhead... No rot!!!

Also noticed Craddock's Have started selling "Fibreglass wings" at a fraction of the cost of The standard ones. Good idea?

I have seen a fibre glass one on ebay before but if they are such a good idea how come they never caught on and are sold at Paddocks and the like?.

FFS man are you serious, How strong to thing your landy would be after fitting it????

Wing are not strucural, ~Why do you think the bulkhead is made out of steel and not ally????

You have only got to look at the Kit Car scene, and their SVA compliant.Let alone looking at Lotus ,VW Buggies etc.
Whats the difference?

How structural is the bulkhead, given that the vehicle is built on a massive chassis? My MoTer doesn't think so!
About the only important thing that bolts to the bulkhead is the brake pedal & master cylinder.

What about the steering column? fire protection?

Fire protection, see earlier post about kit cars, Lotus etc.
Steering column, yes it's braced to the bulkhead, but it is part of the steering box, and that is bolted to a bracket from the chassis.
