Well, that's no Defender engine.
Somebody's done an engine transplant, could be good or bad depending on how well it has been done.
Have you driven it? I'd be wary unless you can find out who did the work and what has been done.

Its on e bay item
eBay item number:
232118074945

Please look guys and any opinions greatly appreciated

The advert is a bit suspect to me, bad English speaking seller, selling for a friend, it's listed as a 2008 TD5 so the owner or person listing doesn't even know what they have... Could all be genuine.

The engine looks like a Puma engine, which it should be for this age - but there are some comments above from people who don't think it looks right - I will leave this as I don't own a Puma engined Defender so won't comment, although it does look like a 2.4Tdci to me. However I think you have confused matters by posting an image from Google and not the eBay ad!

Looks pretty straight otherwise - I'd go see it - or at least call the guy and have a chat about it. See what the score is. Also, check it for HPI, reported stolen etc (as you should always do).

Yes the torque is good, just amazed by the lack of outright power. I was expecting it to be around 250 considering my 1.6 diesel Honda CR-V makes 118 with 158 for the better models yet an engine twice its size only makes 22 more.
