Had my lightweight for a while now and really need to know what engine is in it and year if possible ? As I intend on rebuilding it . I know it's a 2.5 ltr and in n/a
I don't think it would be a good idea. The standard 2.5 n/a should be able to propel your landy up to 55/60 without a problem - that's about the safe limit your braking system was designed for. The increased stress on the existing 2.5 may cause problems down the line. If you want loads more power a 200TDI conversion would be a better way to go - but don't forget to upgrade the brakes too.Cool I have checked the engine number and its a 12j just wondering if anyone knows if this could be have a turbo put on? Or is it just a lot more work for not much benifit?
Thanks
19J was basically a turbo strap on to the 12J - BUT - it did have bores done as well to allow for the extra, so sticking a turbo on would be a short life sentence in my book. 19J turbo taken off fine -12J turbo added on - not good.
they fitted teflon coated pistons after the non coated as 2.5na had a habit of splitting, plus thicker exhaust valves
