For a start, I'm fully aware these will be no substitute for proper springs etc to lift the suspension. BUT, I'm on a tight budget and would like to lift my disco a bit - to save damaging the bumpers and tow bar.

LAND ROVER DISCOVERY 2" LIFT KIT SPRING AND SHOCKER 4X4 on eBay, also Suspension Components, Performance Tuning Parts, Car Tuning Styling, Cars, Parts Vehicles (end time 30-May-09 20:07:20 BST)

I've been doing a bit of experimenting with laneing, I'm thoroughly enjoying myself but can also see the benefit of being a little higher. Will they do the job for now? I can probably litterally make my own if it's worth it but wanted your views first....

I was doing greenlaning everyday last winter 1km of deep rutted farm field with a old disco 1 full of kids from the house we are trying to build to the bus stop.
The only thing that kept us from grounding was higher profile tyres.
Only thing is the car will only go in a straight line until the tyres wear the wheel arches away.
Cheers.
Paul.

got a set on mine so tyres clear arches been laning with them on and use every day no probs they stand up to a good lot of stick but it was not a 5 min job puting them on you will need plenty of wd40 if you havent got a gas axe

Thanks for that, I've got a gas axe (think I'm about outta oxy tho). Just need to find some 50mm box and some 50mm flat bar ;)

Unfortunately, I've almost been banned from laning - apparently I didn't make a good enough job of cleaning the drive after my last session with the pressure washer

dont bother a few hard pot holes they will get flattened and you would of wasted your money look on ebay for the solid round ali ones much better mine have been on for 1 year now with no probs

Hmm, one all then! lol.

Actaully, perhaps I can get my hands on some 50X50 solid bar (told you I was on a budget).

I will be looking at the ali ones though, thanks for the heads up.
