If you remove - say - a fuel pump - and you have quite a few inlet and outlet pipes / unions etc - it is best to seal them with the small plastic type plugs - like in the enclosed picture - (the yellow and red 'plugs' / 'caps')

I need some for a fuel pump from an l series that is going into hibernation / storage) - but, I am unsure of what to search for to get them.//
Hope that makes sense :)

When I knew I was going to strip a 200 I collected corks, and used these to plug various holes (oo err missus) Clean them well though, as they could shed crumbs.

Just noticed you're in Portugal! What a place for corks!
Yup, Near Porto too :) ... trouble is, by the time I have 'sampled' all the best port wines available (to collect the required 'corks'), I will be too pi$$ed to fit anything into anything - as the bride tells me.... :(
