I've done a search and not really been able to find what I was after.
I've got a 300tdi and I'm having AT's fitted but I was wondering if I actually NEEDED anything else or Are they just "wish list" items
My old 200tdi had
2" lift with extended shocks,
Extended bump stops
Extended brake lines
Front and rear diff guards
Steering guard
Snorkel
235 85 16 mud terrains

As this truck is mainly going to be used to tow cars and bikes to track days I didn't want to go as far with this one but would still like to go green laning as I now live in Devon and there are loads of lanes it would be rude not to.

Are there any essentials ?

Nope, just a 300TDi. You'll be surprised how capable they are. of course, the more extreme you want to go the more mods will help you.

A decent tow rope or similar is essential.

Other than that as has been said you can go a long way on the standard setup, as long as it's in good nick.

Just remember to NEVER go alone and you'll be fine. A standard disco with good tyres and a tow rope is all you really need to enjoy normal lanes.

Oh and someone with a camera to take piccies when you get stuck :D

My 300 TDi is fine with nothing more than AT's. I have just fitted a steering guard which took a battering last week so a bit of underbody protection may be worth considering. Having said that I had no issues before fitting the guard and probably got over confident knowing it was there.

a good service
decent tyres
recovery points (jate rings)
breather extensions.
a friend or two to go with

I've been green laning in Yorkshire in a RR just after it left the factory :D

As already said, it'll do ok in standard trim, just don't go alone.

If you want to modify it then decide on tyres first and go from there. Removing the bottom of the front bumper helps with approach angle too and is a free mod :biggrin1:

I've just found a pair of those foglights complete with covers in my garage at the weekend!

Not quite like winning the lotto but still worth a mint I would think if u sell :D

Covers were not standard but available from your local Lucas shop back in the 1987s at a round £6 the pair IIRC :D
