OK guys, so I've discovered my fog lights and Air con are also not working. Fuses all good on those, indication light isn't coming on the dash buttons. can these issues be related to no lower brake lights? Is it an earth? Where do I look for the issue? Thanks for your help everyone.

Almost any electrical fault can be caused by poor earthing. They aren't always, but they can be.
If the earths are not good, the circuits are incomplete, the power cannot flow back to the battery.
If you want to understand this, you need to look at a wiring diagram, and try and understand the circuits, and relate them to the actual wires on the vehicle. All the wires should be different colours, and those colours are marked on the wiring diagram.

Hi HelpAGirlout, nice name by the way
If you need new switches / plugs male & female etc you can get them direct from manufacturer or do a search on eBay " Bosch Jetronic" that will bring up virtually every switch or plug ever made all yo have to is identify what you need from the pictures and text.
I hope that helps GOOD LUCK :D

Replaced all corroded components today and all seems to be working again. Thanks for your help guys. I get that posting in the specific sections will help me in the future, this was my 1st attempt at seeking help from a forum, so thanks to all that have contributed. So, till the next unexpected rattle or mysterious malfunction where I will be asking for your help, I doubt I shall be able to advice myself on any issues as I'm still a newbie, although if we pass in real life then expect a wave from me. ;)

You seem to learn quick.

One way to check an Earth is to put a temporary wire (flylead) from the problem to a metal bit on the vehicle like chassis, if it then works it's because it now has earthed properly through the flylead.
If you are willing there will be loads of help here for you. The wimmins here have taught me thing or three about Landys. We all share what we have learned is how we get by.
