Don't suppose you have his details? I'm going to need a new pump for sure.
Went out to defrost the car this morning and she wouldn't start, but dumped all of the contents of the FIP on the ground.
Check his ebay shop r-r-4x4 . You could always message him to see if he has one.

Heated screen is operated from the HEVAC I think via fuse box relays, nothing to do with the BECM.

Relay 15 is in the becm according to the below pic (see number 15 , if that's a relay?)

The car cover is on for the first time this end of the year. Might have been a tad too slow though. The snow has already frozen😔 So fan heater, hair dryer, defroster, all ready for the 0600hrs start in the morning 🙈🤞

I'm no pro and it took me probably an hour of staring at that diagram and reading the text to it before the penny dropped. Ground from hvac button (once it's pressed )gives the ground to the relay 5 which already has 12+ to it from the becm so the coil pulls in and sends the power to the left side heated screen. The rest of it for the relay 4 to the other half of the screen I understand.
I'm just unsure where this 12v from the becm goes...straight to the fusebox relay?or becm-hvac-fusebox relay? I'm finding it all interesting but headachey :stars:

Ta. I think the heated screen IS working...though I thought it wasn't.
Hard to explain but basically the new screen is more subtle, no obvious lines of melted ice like the old one, and indeed, the elements are very hard to see compared to the old which were very obvious.
The new screen clears slower with no melt lines and is just not as good as the old which I think was the reason why I thought it wasn't working. I apologise for being a mong.

Another plus is I've found a guy selling the paper version of the workshop and electrical manuals around an hour or so from me for £30 so hopefully fetching them in a few days, already in poly pockets and ring binders too.

That will be the cheap autoglass alternative

Not sure if you've been following along the fuel pump issue but long story short, new fuel pump pretty much ate itself, Sandy is undrivable and she's been recovered back to the only garage that will work on a diesel P38 an hour away.
Me and the dog waved her off while Bix is at work with a tear and a salute and then did his admin ringing the garage to warn them she was incoming in the snow and horrific twisty county roads (take me hooooome) 😂

I've just broke down too! Luckily, just leaving a mates house so I can sit in the warm awaiting recovery. Drove fine to here, parked up 2 hrs, went to leave, started as normal then died. Tried again, mucho cranky then fired. Reversed off his drive then died again. Air in the curly pipe, less than a 1/4 tank so suspect intank pump has died. Fuse and relay OK so called breakdown. Autoaid ....never had to use them before so God knows how swift they are. Had to pay a £25 excess cos she's over 10 yrs old or something.
 
Cheapy fuel pump? Or a vdo one?
Fitted to bix?
I'll get a vdo one or....I might fit a facet inline one , cheapy and easier to change on the dide of the road.
If they are suitable for a 38. Got one on my 110 200tdi with no problem.
