700 mile round trip with only one issue: at some stage someone had replaced the Nylock nuts that hold the air compressor in with machine screws. 2 had come out, one never to be found and the compressor was making a horrible racket. Thought it was failing at first but once I had the box open I realised what had happened. The thread is M5 for those that are interested. Stopped on the way back and bought some threaded bar and Nylocks to go on it and will get it back to standard when I get a chance.

Any pics??😁
Not so while I'm driving😜

Yesterday I was in a hurry to go out of town to avoid the last day of the RHS flower show (woodstock without the hippies!) But there was a van blocking the exit from my parking bay, so I had to reverse backwards and then go forwards to get out, unfortunately in my haste I 'clipped' the front bumper of my neighbours car, end result: New bumper fittings, new headlight bezzle and a few other bits and pieces! Blimey hardly even noticed....we ended up agreeing that I should give him Β£200 which is what his cousin charged to put it right. After I gave him the cash he knocked at my door and gave me Β£30 back saying he paid cash and therefore didn't have to pay the Β£30 VAT and that I should have it back for being so honest. Not sure how 'honest' I would be again....now if there is a van parked poorly I just go and ask them to move citing the fact that it is nigh on impossible to exit if vehicles are parked poorly and that it cost me a lot of money because of the inconsiderate parking. A VERY expensive lesson! Didn't even put a scratch on the 'beast', just a little 2cm mark on the N/S rear passenger door.

Looks like another cracking weekend was had by all.
You seemed to have stayed dry ;).
That yellow defender looks like its had a bit of work put into it, tasty:).

J.
Mega lad absolutely mega. The defender weighs in 3.3t with a widened wheel base of 330mm. It's done 440.000kms on a td5. Double shocks all-round, air, water... You name the bloke has built it all himself.
I asked about wheel bearings suffering from the spacers 165mm per wheel and he said he's changed one rear in 200.000km, he's not even had problems with the swivel housing bearings.
He tours around the world with it. Top bloke and an amazing inventory of info on the build. 😎

Gave mine a wash inside and out from picking up load of building materials other day, then took it to help a mate jump his E class, wouldn’t have it, battery wash shot so went and got him another then found out he had tried and tried and buggered the starter so new one needed. He’s only had the car few week but looking at it, people say Range Rover build quality.. this e class (11 reg) feels cheap, seats are rock hard, it’s had a new subframe as other rotted away and boot floor is a bit of carpet covered cardboard, talk about cheap! Makes Range Rover build quality feel like Rolls Royce.
