ATF should be changed every 25K miles regardless of colour. In case you do not know, the level is checked with the engine cold and idling after running the gear lever through all positions.
Yes, I noticed that in RAVE recently which was why I checked. Of course I checked it when we got him and before having RAVE so just used the dipstick cold and engine off, forgetting that if you can do it differently JLR will. Probably doesn't help he's my first automatic in 30+ years on the road.
And I learned very early on, with a faceful of hot oil, not to leave the dipstick loose or out on a motorbike, which sort of stays with you!

If you checked with the engine off, the level will be even lower than you think it is;)
 
Anyone know where i can get a HT king lead from? Bought a lead set for my 2A but the coil lead is too short, needs to be 24"/60cm.. can't see much on ebay, dunno where else to look

Used to be able to buy it off the reel at Halfrauds, any length you like up to 50 metres:eek:
 
Changed upper suspension arm ball joint and it only took me 8 1/2 hours, 3 broken drill bit's, 1/2 inch extension as a drift, 5lb lump hammer and the bastid still wouldn't shift. Got the fooker out in about 4 pieces. :D
 
Did my rear abs ring friday night hassle free everything came apart okay i did my wheelbearing last week all together again done in 40mins,
Heaps of odd jobs and running about all weekend,
Made every possible use of being left with a trailer all week too

Wafted gently to a B&B in the Lakes, over 130 trouble free miles averaging just over 21mpg. Track to the place much better suited to Otto than either of the other cars and definitely not bike friendly. Stopped at services just before the lakes but no spare alternator to help the stranded 53 plate L322 who were on their way to Scotland as their first long trip since purchase.
 
Fixed the heater (sort of) but more details in my other thread for that.
The RR earned it's stripes by doing it's first on call shift for ServKent.co.uk as I am a volunteer bloodrunner. About an 80 mile round trip to collect and deliver platelets from the blood bank to Pembury hospital. We answered the call at 2:42am, were in Surrey by 3:46am and I was back in bed for 5:30am. Hassle free drive and nice and warm too. On the grounds of that I decided it was time to show the bodywork some love.

For those that won't know, I bought this car sight unseen from an auction, it was delivered on 1/9/22 and I've been sorting out the issues for a few weeks so the cleaning wasn't a priority.

I spent £7 on a jet wash (we're on a hosepipe ban in the SE) to clean the shuts and crevices etc. and when I'd finished beating it to death with the stupid hose at the petrol station, I took it home for a second wipe over panel by panel. Used my Bilthhamber clay then machine polished with a coarse cut waffle pad and Sonax fine cut compound then coated with R222 wax. The results I am pretty pleased with for a first pass.
