It wasn't MY Rangie, all I've done in mine today is drive it to work, but I did service an L322 (lovely TDV8) today which meant my first time driving one (albeit a short drive).

It might have been a very expensive service for me - going to be exercising all my self restraint now to avoid buying one!

4.4 i hope, the 3.6 can be problematic I believe.

Why expensive? Something up with it or a major service?

It was a 3.6, but it was lovely and smooth, and very wafty suspension compared to the 1988 daily driver Rangie!
What usually goes wrong with the 3.6, if you're familiar enough to say?
No, he's driven it and now wants to buy one.;):D
That's the one! And for the right engine, and a decent service history, I'd be looking at bankruptcy the first time it had a fault I couldn't fix myself!:D

Yea see mince n tattys is brill ,till you have steak ,then is not as good , and now you will find lots of reasons why you need one ,and why cause you dipped your toe in the water and it felt good :D:D
I can't have three Range Rovers though :(

They have a tendency to consume the turbos I believe:eek: I think the oil return pipes gum up as they're close to the exhaust.

And that why i dont have 2 ,Iknow the l233 is like night n day to drive, against the p38,,so many many people have said ,but i never indulged my self ,if i did i would not want to part with me p38 ,n , id be where u are now:eek:,,,,,but but a mate of mines round the corner had a l233 ,and now has a 3.0 ltr 405 ,n he said the l233 was a better car o_O,the l405 is two flimsy feeling, not quality each too there own ....mind u i did mention the 3.0 cranks snap ;) :D:D
I've got two classics, a sensible (relatively speaking) daily with a 200TDI in, and a 3.5 V8 with carbs that uses most of its fuel getting to the local shell :D
The P38 is growing on me, and I've always had a soft spot for the L322. Not so keen on anything newer, and (although I'm probably in the minority) I prefer the more traditional look on L322s, with the slated grill and side vent bits, not all the mesh.
But I can't have 3 Range Rovers. I'm going to have to keep saying it :D

Today (well yesterday now actually) I went in search of my missing N/S/R jacking pad, never found it, but at least have a better understanding of where it may have evaporated too
Oh, you have to love the Joy's of L322 ownership. Weirdly, having removed the plastic skirt from the offside, that is in reasonable condition. Wonder if that is common?
I will fix her up and post the outcome, just praying for this dry weather to continue, cos I am working from my driveway

Normal, funnily enough my P38 did the same,O/S good N/S needed welding, I put it down to the trim and side step collecting mud and moisture:eek::( On the 322 the steel has a high Boron content so short weld runs to keep the temperature as low as possible otherwise it will crack when cooling.;) good luck
