I don’t think it’s that bad but don’t listen to me :D
Photo maybe?? other bits were worse and cleaned up okay with a grind and paint. It is all over the surface but not penetrated - back end around that area is worst. Original idea was to sort out underneath this summer before it turns into a defender  breakdowns every other week has kept me to busy but I have done few little bits.

Il get some better pics for you both when I’m under there with the shock(s), see what you think :)
My mate told me his welder has blown doing his triumph herald (he also has 2Discos and used to have a Classic that he put a CAT engine in, that was then stolen never to be seen again)
He said not to weld struts as when it was originally welded it wasn’t full of oil/nitrogen. Either it will go off in my face like a bomb or the seals inside will fail :(

He also gave me something (free) to try. I don’t usually believe/mess about with this sorta thing and doubt a P38 will recognise it. Il try just to kill phil’s curiosity -

There is a guy on youtube that took one apart and tested its components and board wiring and all it does is a little light show there is no part of it capable of sending any info back to ecu.

My guess is you are right - except there is no light - maybe he had the posh £2.50 one :D:p:D
Doubt anything inside there will be generally complicated enough to interface with a P38.

Even if the diesel P38 was ODB2 compliant the chip in the ECU is write once only. To reprogram you need a blank chip unless someone has already been in there.

Il put it on and let him have a go of my P38, then unplug it when he's not looking and ask how it feels much betterer :D

Then I will cut it open to see what’s (not) inside. Bet there’s a single resistor with Tin foil wrapped on it is something silly :p:D
Datatek will know what it is/isn’t capable of with one look :)

As the P38 is not OBD compliant, I'd be surprised if that power box works.

So.... Insuring my wifeys car and read this.... told them to f/o, why?? One Call, and trust me, if you have a problem its a lot more than "One Call"
"you are also informed we will require your driving licence number and national insurance number prior to purchasing the insurance contract"

Been away visiting friends for a week. Don’t think Princess wanted to come home - bottom rad hose seems to have distorted and rubbed against V.fan. My roadside repair kept me going by cutting the broken bit out and zipping bit of pipe in there. my bottle of ‘hot start’ saved me again :) new hose ESR3165/pch124720 ordered. £8

Thank god for the lower radiator chassis bar.......even the Aircon rad has had a knock with the plastic exploding....
It popped the middles out of the front wheels as well... I was really fūcked off...
In fact I still am...

I'd have probably started screaming if I hit a squirrel let alone a wild boar. Do they often jump out in front of cars or were you chasing it through a forest?

It was suggested to put it in the back of the bus,
1- too bloody heavy
2- it stank (most likely)
3- if the bugger recovers and goes ape!!!
I've been belted by a deer a few years ago, a young one that ran into my old omegas front wing. It then ran around the car three times then disappeared.... The insurance are collecting the bus to repair it and giving me a courtesy car to work from home with....
I couldn't sleep last night worrying about who was repairing it and if they do a good job.... Really?
