So did you just cover every crack and crevis with sealant? I am looking at doing mine but not sure of the best approach.

Basically yes!

I've sealed them all up before but little did i know that..

1) Water can leech its way down the threads of the screws that secure the housings and skuttle down - a dab of sealant on the threads and the head is a must!
2) the Pollen filter covers can warp in the centre too..
3) CLEAN the covers and the housing it mounts to,

Water!

Alright, coolio. I'll have to give it a whirl. The boss gets upset when it rains because she gets wet feet.

Yes only issue is the foam under the carpet gets sodden, i had to cut mine out and drive over it to get the water out! ;)

I'd also watch the connectors behind the passengers kick panel they can go green from moisture exposure! ;)

I use a little bead of silicone sealant round the covers, I backed all the scuttle screws out coated the thread with silicone and refitted no more trouble since. The silicone is easy to remove and the screws also come out with no trouble.

You might want to get one of these if they need soldering (If you don't have one already that is) Makes soldering so much easier having a temperature controlled iron
