Any recommendations for a set of p38 shock absorbers that are a reasonable price, and how easy hard are they to replace?
Boge.
As that is what they had new..

Front shockers are a piece of **** to replace, you don't even have to take the front wheels off, if you're flexable..

The rears you have to remove the inner liners, if the bolts are a ballache.

Top rear bolt can be a**e to come out, apart from that it’s easy enough.
Give it a good plus gas few times. I put the rear wheel back on to get enough leverage with 1/2” extension

Not Boge but not 90’s either.

new ones on left are compressed, ones on right are 7/8 years old and about same length with no force on them so they do age

The things actually ace. Never thought I'd use it. But well I do a lot
Same here, squashed my index finger in 1973 so now it often feels cold, in the p38 often had to put hand over heater vent to warm it up now I just hit the button great it is.(and no it had nothing to do with a young lady and legs before you lot start ok)

Why? are the others too soft a ride?

Mine has the originals on it!

And still rides really well, so i'd be inclined by Boge..

Some fit Bilsteins others fit Britpart cellular dynamics, i have them on my D2 and they were OK, not great.

Such and such the same. I think my red auto showed a consistent 24mpg (but it had a psi box so they lie then)
This was showing 21 22mpg I wanted to leave it over 1000miles go get an idea but I had dials out the other night with my temp needle :(.
Its showing 17 at the moment over the last 68miles since they've been out but thermostat change and viscous change I left it running for 30mins to make sure its balance its heat and keep cool after being run. And 4 mile out and in the road cold running each time.
It may have a long day tomorrow on road depending if I can be bothered.
Down to kirkcaldy 130miles with trailer empty car to bring up to ellon 100miles. Then ellon to ballater 60miles empty then ballater to home 75miles with a car then down to ellon to pick up the x5 and back home 40miles round trip..

For a heavy L322 that ain't too bad!! ;)

There is a Black TD6 parked outside a house in Aberyswyth, tempted.

But it has been there for a good year!!

Its brilliant and the heated seats are actually amazing in it too
