Finally after more than a year, repaired the plastic tabs on my lower tailgate trim last night. 2mm aluminium strips glued with Sticks Like SH*T. All nicely bonded, and re-installed just now. The cover has been flapping for ages.

Pop into a shop, buy a bottle of cold water and pour it over the top of fuel injection pump. Over heat sensor just under cover and can stop it firing when too hot. water trick can cool it down enough to make it fire up
Waited until it was ‘cool enough’ to run the glow plugs. Started on the button. I’ll remember this for next time!
If it's not loss of sync, then it could be FIP timing. When the modulation was over 80% on my project car, it was almost impossible to start it when hot.
I have got a synergy box set up solely to treat the hot start issue. I think I’m going to have to look at 1) removing the synergy box, followed by 2) adjusting the FIP timing to get a better solution.

The hot start fix is a bodge with the modulation correct, my car starts immediately hot or cold.

Wonder if there is a fix for the drop down springy flap thing that doesn't springy down anymore?
I have to manually lower it which isn't on really.

I have one like that, my fix will hopefully be fitting the one from my scrapper if it's any good.

Currently awaiting rescue in a car park sweating my tits off.

Drove into town, about 20 miles and all dandy. Did what I needed to about an hour later and jump in the car.. and it’s just cranks, no attempt at firing at all. Great.

Booster pack does help coax it into life either so I think the only real option is to buy get it recovered.

Could be loss of sync from RF interference?

Hot start fix should bring the glow plugs on every time.
