Mine still getting through about a litre of coolant a week. i must sort out the leaky oil cooler. It hd 2 advisories on previous MoTs on "coolant leak from rear of engine" but strangely enough no advisories this year. I suspect dealers' MoT garages turn a blind eye for minor things.

If it gets much worse you will be in serious trouble get it sorted.
As soon as I identified ours was leaking we stopped driving it till it was fixed. Didn’t even notice loss of oil I just investigated a couple of drips found on my pit boards.

Your playing with fire if you ask me.

Spare blade to use in ignition if the door lock swallows the key? Presume the immobilizer is turned off.
At least then you can start and move, even if the key is in the lock. Maybe tether the door key so you don't lose it if the lock then lets go...
I think the barrel lock needs a proper fix , rather than the fix from last time. Luckily I got the full part from GoS when the barrel came out a couple of months ago. I didn't use it as I had also bought the small part that had come away from barrel and it did the job.
I have the 2 keys but unfortunately I was several hours from Narnia. So couldnt even get a taxi and just go get it.
Now that I am home, I don't need to lock her. So I can weigh up my options. She will need to go away to Gibsons and everything taken apart, to see best course of action. However, that brings it's own problems as I will need to stay near Gibsons whilst wotk is done. In the meantime the spare will be carried in my pocket for times where she has to be locked.

RAC renewal came through yesterday. HOW MUCH I screamed , gone up about 30%. Been with them over 16 years and always been happy . Got a quote like for like from AA and a lot cheaper. Just phoned RAC to cancel and give the being a pensioner sob story. Immediately they dropped the renewal to cheaper than AA's and many apologies given. Got a big grin on my face once again:vb-banana::vb-angel1:

Try Auto Aid. Which? liked them.

I might try them next year. When at home in Narnia , we only have one recovery agent, who responds for all, companies. So makes no difference who I am with. The AA went up around 100% this year, thieving gits, which why I went to RAC. RAC are a substandard rescue company. I nearly rejoined AA yesterday due to RAC handling of breakdown.

I think its horses for courses as they say. I left AA to go to RAC for same reason.

I'm with them, 3 yrs now I think. Had to use them for the first time a couple of weeks back, I posted about my experience on here somewhere. I felt they didn't have many recovery agents, 3hrs until they got to me and a £25 excess has to be paid as the p38 is over 20yrs old or summut.
Think the renewal was £95 this year.

Recovery is included in my insurance here in France but it only covers to a suitable garage.

that would be 'home', then
No chance! Only ever had to use the service once, they took the car to the nearest dealer. They did say they would take it home, some 90 miles, if I paid the mileage. I had no time to mess around as I was on route for the ferry and the insurance covered provision of a hire car.

FFS all the digging and reading up on which battery will fit and i added the wrong one to basket!! I got the 020 battery which is too wide at 393mm

wot a silly sossidge
i'll just have to order another.. 'right' one this time!

anybody want a brand new size 020 battery?

I usually get a good price with AA. The gold membership, plus associate discount, plus asking 'can you do better please',usually meant a close to new member price. But this year they were not from budging from over £300. And that was supposedly including my associate discount. Thieving 🤬
So off I toddled to RAC . Hidden somewhere in small print is 'they won't come out to the same problem more than once'.For example , battery fails due to leaving lights on, out they come, battery fails due to -4° , days, weeks, month later, they won't. Flat tyre due to a nail out they come, same tyre has same issue days, weeks, months later, they're not coming. Same for any problem. Or as they tried on Tuesday, and I quote"well can you not fix it?", "the mechanic won't have tools that can help", " can you just put lubricant in yourself", and " we'll give you a phone number of a locksmith we use", " oh it's a key problem. We don't attend those". The last one I had to explain it's wasn't the key that is the issue 🤦‍♀️
I will not use them again.

Whilst I'm ranting it is also ridiculous that new members are given a price that is around 1/3rd of the loyal member's price. Then loyal members have to ask "can I please have a better price".😡

3hrs doesn't sound bad. RAC said 4hrs plus on Tuesday. With all windows open in -3° freezing fog. If it wasn't for the fact I was next to Pets at Home, the ambulance would have been called before they arrived.
