Don't know what it was... but from his bad English, he said it was under the pump, and he cleaned it, think he said something to do with acceleration???? but its like crazy fast on acceleration, was never that fast before, no hesitation at all, put my foot down and it just gooooooes !!! its like driving a petrol

oh please find out what it was and what was the cost. i might get my pump timing checked if it makes that much differance.
 
Thought I'd change over my pesky drivers side blend motor that doesn't work. While I'm there may aswell do the 'O' rings in heater matrix pipes. One 'O' ring was like granite and the other one was broken. Quite sure i did not break it taking it out. Happy with that job.

Blend motor couldn't be changed as I'd bought the wrong one, 2 wire instead of 5. Duh!

Still, simple wire to control arm at least means I have heat until new one can be found.

After all that, just need to figure out what I've done to make my external temp now to read up to minus 38c.

Ordered a set of Bosch heater plugs. Ordering a new rF receiver after I get paid.

I get the fun of installing new plugs in the dark since provo won't allow me to do any work on the car park. Since I can't start it to drive to the car club warehouse, I was told by PS to just do it on the weekend when provo go home.
 
Cleaned it inside and out. And took it for a nice drive. Left the park lights on yesterday and the battery drained. I was fearing the worse but after a few hours on charge it struck up and seems to be driving better than before..? Is that just me or could it of reset something I've changed a few sensors recently MAF in particular.

Not complaining tho
 
Changed front discs and pads, bled the brakes (5 litres of DOT 5.1 through the system) one of the dust seals has gone on the front left caliper - should have changed them as i was intending to do! Oh well, better get a move on before the winter sets in.
 
I use mine as a workhorse and today she was loaded with 2x4 for a timber workshop project I'm constructing.....
So I can sit in it and repair all the p38 parts that keep falling off, got e.a.s and a.b.s pump kits sitting in a box somewhere waiting to be done.
Just a thought, if I didn't own a p38 I wouldn't need a workshop.

Amazing car for shifting large items
 
Replaced the rear air bags.
Fitted new radiator and genuine thermostat.
then spent 4 hours towing the caravan up to Coniston.
But there's still one hill on the M1 that gets the temp heading towards the red!
So I guess its a genuine water pump next..

was replacing your air bags as easy as every ones says im doing mine saturday maybe friday if i finish work early

Doing that sort of thing when a had a brand new BMW got me a reputation as a car wrecker!!! Some people just think that wood and leather just dont go together!!!

Surprisingly as easy as everyone says - get some new R clips though. one of mine was so badly corroded it broke into 3 pieces and I drove the remainder out with a long punch, held me up at least 3 minutes.. lol

oh i got the clips at the same time just to be sure. i even fit new nuts n bolts when i do prop UJs
 
Changed battery to an Alphaline as recommended on the forum, took a day to charge with our soft charger but in the RR now and working well
