Hearty Congrats Deasy.....Long may your nights not be interrupted and if they are remember its LandyZone - Land Rover Forum

Myself and my Girlie have yet to go through the family route so haven't experienced the sleepless nights yet...but I have heard good stories and bad, so fingers crossed yours remain undisturbed...

I'm used to sleepless nights, iv got a rangie. I'm usually lying awake a night wondering and worrying about what's going to cost me the most money next!

make sure you have plenty of bottles ready for the night shift :D:D:D:D:D:D:D

did my service today, well most of it. finish the rest in the morning.
oil filter fitted was a MANN filter, oil was as black as night!
axle oils changed
new air filter (as sudjested by here instead of K&N)
8 new NGK plugs
pollen filters
pro shaft greased on all 6 nipples. never realised there was so many! (might invest in some new UJ's as they were dry
door checks lubricated as well as door handle mod done
coolent level and quality check done, all good :)
and fitted my window deflectors on the front doors.

just leaves me the g/box filter to do tomorrow. not looking forward to that!

Got the axle back on today. Just got to hope the stealer gets the right breather pipe in, and she'll be good to go tomorrow :) (well, after getting the tracking redone!)

Got to Ludlow after m40 2 hour delay range e lapped it up no overheating , chilling at Leominster ready for Tomorrow's jaunt :))))

Drivers side welding nearly complete (new YRM sill) I decided I'd better just do both sides and this side is a lot better than the other.

Figure out which parts fell off on my way home from work. Turns out bits of plastic damaged from a pheasant strike last Saturday are starting to break loose. May have to gaffer tape mend until I get a replacement bumper. Don't want to be shedding debris on the roads.

Dropped mine to my mates bodyshop as ive a irish dent in the bonnet and some bird poo stains in the paint on the bonnet so its getting bonnet painted, both mirrors due to scuffs and rear bumper due to scuffs, getting done just to make her look mint....

Also dropped private plate documentation off at dvla, as decided to go dateless just a cheap plate though but prefer them over the old T reg number...

Just the headling to do next and few odds and ends...

Good move I find the motor runs sooo much better with a noo reg number

Well I did this yesterday actually. Having previously dropped the cats I found the pipe between the mid and back boxes was corroded and ruptured but I never heard it. Its an aftermarket midbox and seems to be doing the whole job, back box surplus to requirement. So dropped the back box and stuck in 2" steel pipe all the way (not SS). Quiet and refined till you give it some boot and then it snarls and spits. That bit of pipe has somehow tuned the exhaust note making it deeper and best of all no reverb or boominess. Complete blind luck tbh as didn't really know what I was doing or what to expect but well pleased! :D

Don't get rid of the Cats. You'll ned em for next MOT;)

Not where I live. Or more specifically, not where the car lives. I'm half the time in Germany and the other half in Bangladesh for work. The P38 lives there. :) Its also a variant without any O2 sensors whatsoever!

How much quoted to respray the bonnet? Mine needs doing, got more craters in the paint than the Somme battlefields:mad:

Do it yourself ;)

I can do lot's of things but spray painting is outside my capabilities as is building brick walls. Electricity, plumbing, electronics, air systems, hydraulics & engines no problem, I try to avoid gearboxes as well:)
Maybe sand all the paint off and have it as polished ally:):)

isnt the bonnet steel on the P38? i know mine is :)

You sure? It would weigh a tonne in steel and all the other skins for doors etc are alloy? Plus the bits where the paint is missing go white as in corroding alloy. I'll go put a magnet on it. The frame is steel.:)
