And thats a fact. I've seen it some where where its been worked out the making of the batteries and transport causes more pollution than driving a P38
Volvo released some interesting data that did a like for like comparison of a brand new ICE and EV vehicle. Same model, same production lines, mostly the same suppliers. The EV needs to do 90k miles before the day to day running starts being greener than the ICE. And that's with all the resources taken to build a new car. My 1982 V8 Rangie is greener than most EVs. So is my 1988 diseasel!

I wonder where all the electrickery is going to come from. See the government is talking about charging,no pun intended,by the mile as it's losing so much revenue with the eco cars paying reduced or no road tax.
They need to build 5 new power stations just for charging. A MP's report the other day on news stated that the government was going to be down £35 billion yes billion per year with lost revenue in duty, vat, road taxes etc

I'd like to. It might set them straight about a few things, like what hard work looks like! We might have less focus on pronouns and more on things that matter too. (Never been down a pit, but my uncle did after he left the RM Commandos, and I'm glad it wasn't something I had to do)
I had 13 years down pit til one accident too many and redundancies finished my career in one of the best jobs I ever had

My dad was an engineer down the pits and an accident fecked his back, I've still got the Davey lamp he was given on his retirement.
I was a time served fitter. Did a real indentured apprenticeship. Not like todays so called apprenticeships
When I had a full scan 18mnths back I found at some time I had fractured a disc hence me back pain plus the knee and hip problems I suffer from. Remember the test they did with a Davey lamp on your first day of underground training. Every one turn off your cap lamps and just a the light from a Davey lamp to show us how the older miners had to see to work before the use of cap lamps THEN instructor turned off Davey so there was a complete absense of light. It was a test to see if you would be okay if any thing should happen. Only one lad in our group lost his bottle and wouldn't go back down. No one thought the lesser of him for it
