"well it needs replacing so I might as well try and fix it first, I can't break it any more".
You're obviously not trying very hard are you?
Down from working mostly normally most of the time (standard range rover issue) there's not currently working. Broken. Bodged and might work for a few minutes just until you've spent 8 hours refitting everything. Broken, never to work again, not even with duct tape or giving it to your mate to fix.
You only reach the last stage after numerous fix attempts that have resulted in screw heads mashed, bolts sheared and seal surfaces never sealing again

Stuck me shiny new gear knob on to replace the broken one and attempted to glue the Arial buttons back on to the rear quarter light glass with conductive paste. Don't think it's worked very well but I'll check tomorrow once it's fully dried. New and broken knob pics below. Must say I'm impressed with the new knobs quality, think it's solid brass.

You mean the common as muck colour! It's not ready yet or registered so probably a couple of weeks.. jap import

faster than yellow though that’s why I went for the multicolour;)

some would say the red P38s are quicker but I think green is:p:D
Hope you enjoy it. I have to mot mine next month so got to pic a sunny day for that:D

Yes red is the faster p38 ;)

I'm sure i will enjoy, but I won't track it, too nice and too low miles

Decided to wash the key in the washing machine. Not a conscious decision but still a decision. Thought I'd emptied my pockets. Thought wrong. Oh how I laughed when, on emptying the machine I realised. No litle red light on pressing buttons. So thought I'll leave it on radiaor shelf deal with it later. Gave the botton a push this morning, and it lives!
At least it'll have got rid of sand, muck, hay dust, and the rest of the crap that gathers in the corners of pockets, to find their way into key casings :)
