@Brown was your issue that your cv didn’t fit inwards to the diff? My issue seems to be the opposite that I can’t pull the cv out enough which the swivel won’t really affect that?
 
In my case there wasn't enough room once the bolts holding the stub axle on were tightened. Hence the need to cut some metal away.

If the driveshaft isn't sticking out far enough to get the spring clip on, there's usually a hole in the end of them with a screw thread, so you can put a bolt in and pull it out. Usually I find that just hooking something into the threads and giving it a tug does it.

Yeah that didn’t even work. I even bought the right bolt and tried pulling on that. No movement outwards
 
It's really hard to tell what might be fouling without coming to have a look at it with you and you're miles away. What I do is take bits off one at a time and see what component is responsible for the binding, and look at things to see where they've been touching. Looking at all the new bits compared to the old ones can be informative so you can see where they're thicker or thinner, longer or shorter etc.
