I did remember reading an article converting the V8 engine couple of decades back. Bit surprised it was in the end money and too many flaws killed it. good read though.

I read this in LRO many years back. A pity as it looks like it would have been a great engine.

My dad was a test driver for Renault trucks and saw the diesels I think he said it was mira test ground going around. Being a landy owner he got chatting and apparently amazing performance, but even with stiffened blocks they couldn’t take any abuse whatsoever. But performance was amazing
