Good point about the aerial - it would indicate its not a 5 door - unless its been taken off - like the drivers seat has (as well as all the other bits). I'm not so sure about the roof panels though - the panels should but up to each other and there's quite a gap in the pic. The bits that look like panels could be branches from the trees behind.

So I don't know.

so the consensus is that it might be a 3 door and it might be a 5 door? :p

i dont think it has a sunroof, my 3 door sunroof doesnt bulge up that high, i think its the tree branch as mentioned above.

Header tank and PS tank look like my td4 but the fuel cutoff switch is in a different place; having said that mine is not an original LHD so no idea if thats normal or not.

the dude still isnt answering my enquiry, so no way of knowing for sure.

Doesn't sound like he is very interested in getting rid then just get 1 with hgf or ird or rear diff failure instead should still be cheap enough

What can you tell me about this car from the pic?

apart from the usual jokes please...

Its LHD
Is it a three or five door?
What engine would it have had?

Thanks,

Is this a test, a general query or for some practical porpoise/dophlin?

As I mentioned earlier in the thread, I need a three-door bodyshell for a project. Due to French paperwork issues it must be a diesel, and preferably a td4, although I might be able to blag it with a Di shell and papers. This one is advertised for sale, but with just that photo and zero useful information. I asked here to see if anyone could spot something definative that says if its a 3 or 5 door and what engine it had while I wait for the dude to respond. Since he is not responding at all, it looks like a bust anyway.

Makes a bit more sense now. :)

He seems to be on the outskirts of Paris and I am right down south.

Freelanders are a relatively rare car here and since the French dont know the meaning of the word "depreciation" anything second hand is seriously expensive...double or triple UK prices - thats why I bought mine in UK and converted it to LHD myself.

Finding a dead 3-door diesel is proving to be quite hard. There are a couple in my region advertised as non runners with transmission problems, but at around €1500 each, the project becomes too expensive, especially since I would be ditching most of the running gear anyway. A partly stripped shell is what I really need.
If this shell in the photo isnt too badly kippered, I would think it would be relatively cheap, but since the #### never replies I dont know for sure.

The reason the sunroof looks like it has a big gap is because there are no sunroof panels in it at the moment. The bits you can see are the deflectors that pop up after you remove the glass. You can see the rubber of the central divider.
