i have had it around 5-6 weeks now and spent 1500 on parts and tools only and still not running right

Yeah but once you've finished it'll be running lovely and you'll know it inside and out and then be hooked

got to get it running before i lose the interest of throwing all my money and time into with no return though eh!! as thats nearly now

The top one is the throttle position sensor, the bottom one is the stepper motor (or otherwise known as the idle air control valve). The pin sticking out on the tps is a broken bolt, try to get it out and replace it with a new one otherwise the tps wont pull down properly.
The stepper should have a small gasket behind it, check that this is ok then give the stepper a clean ( and the place that it sits in ) with carburettor cleaner before putting it back.
Hope this helps
Mark

how do i do this you mean pull the pin out somehow? the behind the head moves up and down a bit on a spring but thats it?

The idle air control valve (stepper) is the one with the plunger sticking out of it (the lower of the 2 sensors), this does not come apart. The TPS which is the one nearest the plenum where that has been removed from there is a pin sticking out of the plenum, this needs to be removed and replaced with a new bolt.

This is the idle air control valve (stepper) this doesnt come apart but it can be cleaned with carburettor cleaner, but the only real way to see if it is faulty is to have the car hooked up to a diagnostics system.
Whats the problem youre having ?

i drove this morning seemed fine braked coming to junction and it cut it wouldint start eventually i got it started again drove further down fine braked at next junction same again cut out this time took bout 10 mins to get it started again??????????????????

In case I've confused things.......Microcat calls it the multi-point injection stepping motor but, exactly as squizzel stated, it's also called the idle air control valve.

I should follow squizzel's advice if I were you.

yes i thought this was it but then stepper confused me so it is it!! i thought this was maybe not working i have cleaned it but unsure!!!

is the end ment to spin? as on the bevel at the end of the pin there is a score mark paint only where its been hitting the small pin inside but its right the way round? and i cant turn it by hand so dont know?

Hi
No it doesnt spin the mark is made by the adjusting screw that runs through the plenum casting. This though should only be adjusted while connected to a t4 or rovacom.
I dont have any idea what can be wrong with your car but i am shure you will sort it in the end, keep at it.
All the best
