I bought mine in July and have just had a quote of £1700 to fix the rust that caused it to fail its MOT. Obviously I wont be paying that, but have a good check of the sills under each door and the boot floor. Mine has gone along where the support struts run underneath the floor - easy to spot with the carpet out but the black soundproofing can make it quite hard to tell from underneath.

Thanks Mate i know the guy had to put a new floor into the cab to pass its MOT and it has just had a new clutch fitted as well he said it had no advisories on the chassis but he has only owned it less the a year so i am wondering why he is getting shut so early unless its just not the right hobbie for him im not really bothered about the interior or paintwork because its all getting changed but just a bit worried about the rust and were to look for it

He getting shot of it as he can't afford the valeting costs. :D

If he can't be bothered just to wash his vehicle can he be bothered to do any thing else?

Thanks Fellas i have got a empty warehouse and a ramp not getting used so might as well find something to drain all my money every month haha hopefully when i get it back i will give it a wash and up lode some better picks as he has some kind of filter on the pictures he has taken also i have just purchased a MOT rust hammer detector so what can go wrong :confused:

I know a place in Widnes with lots of land rovers for sale. A quick glance around there might save you a trip down to london.

the only thing that caught my attention is it has been bobtailed and it was something i was going to do anyway and he only wants £600 for it so not to bad of a deal but if i get down there and its a shed i will let you know

Also i work on a industrial estate in widnes and now quite a few welders and engineering firms who i do work for do you want me to see if they will have a look at yours for you they might be able to do it a bit cheaper let me know and i will ask them for you

If you could that would be much appreciated. The first quote i had was £1700, the next was £1000 - but only if i remove the sills and floor myself. Ive bought a mig to do it myself but without a garage finding a time when im not in work, its light enough and not raining isnt too easy.
