I was on the way home from a week away with the horses at the Royal Welsh when my 90 decided that the voltage would spike through the roof so quickly stopped and turned battery isolator off had a moment and seem to settle. Then a few miles down the road the hand brake drum decided to seize on so got that off and diff lock on rear prop off on the way again only for the alternator to start burning up and has now seized solid so have to park the car up to go to my mates to get an alternator to go 40 miles bk to install as my father in law has had to come and pick the horse trailer up to get the horses home what a day hope everyone else is having a better day than me.

Me to haha got to love these land rover's just picked the alternator up so on way to put it on hope it works .

Have a good think about what tools you need, don't want to get there and find you don't have a spanner for the aux belt tensioner or the fiddly little wires on the back of the alternator!

Well it never ended well the 10mm nut at the bottom was already rounded off before I even started so am awaiting recovery dam I've been beaten for the first time never mind hopefully get it sorted.

Well I'm home and I drove it bk the recovery guy ended up smashing his 9mm snap on socket onto the rounded nut and with a very long extension bar through the front grill and cracked it off. new alternator on and home job done just need to fix everything else now.
