Why did LR delete the extra breather?
Mine is a late 200tdi that had a cracked block so rebuilt it with a disco block

Probably cost saving, and it wasn't needed.
Havent a clue, maybe its a carry over form the previous 19j?
Actually quite hard to find the rocker cover and the side block plate for the 200, I bought one the other day and have been looking on and off for a while now.

I get the impression the breathers are a bit random, depending on what they could get, or had in stock, at the factory on the day.
On 2.5 TD, I have seen several different set-ups, one off the cap, sometimes one off the cap and one off the rocker box.
Mine only had one pipe off the cap, it seemed adequate.
Also, I imagine many of all engine variants have been cut about by previous owners over the years.

TBH I doubt it, but the tdi in my series breathes really hard when pushed so is well worn and my thinking was one day it will have to come out for some work and when it does it can have the extra breather set up as a treat.
