Instead of a why use it, I'm after a what type/make people are using?

It's purely to help people when searching.

So what type and/or make are you using in yours??

Read some of the many 'why use it' threads and you'll find out

Get on a vintage bike racing forum and flog it at a good price.:cool: Don't waste it in yer diesel tank.

I've had it about ten years so it'll be useless now I have been told.
I think its the 'new' stuff called CASTROL R40 not sure if its mineral or synthetic, have to look on the lables tomorrow, i've been putting the odd half gallon in the Disco tank:rolleyes:

Has anyone compared the extra cost against the supposed merits of this using 2t oil in diesel nonsense ???

Oh! and what size tyres should I be using, biggerer the betterer please. :D:D:D

OK - here's some more nonsense for you.

If I get 36mpg, just for example - thats 8 miles per litre, near enough.

250ml of 2-Stroke costs £1 - the same as 2/3 a litre of diesel.

Therefore if in addition to the quiteness and the smoothness I can get an extra 8 miles from a tankful - then I've broke even - I think - but I should have done these calculations 2 Vodka & Tonics ago!

Brain is now on auto-pilot.

Oh! and if you fit 100mm spacers and cut away the wheel arches you can fit the front wheels and tyres off a Volvo F12 Globetrotter - I think.

Back in the day we used Bel Ray in our 2 stroke motor bikes for the smell of it - and we used to race down the A2 to the Little Chef. Ha ha, not helpful but those were the days!!!:)

As long as it's mineral based and not synthetic or semi-synthetic it will be fine.

They nearly all say low-ash, mineral based somewhere on the label - usally in pretty small print though as the synthetic stuff is seen as 'better'. Which it is if you really have a 2-Stroke motor.

I like the idea of having green as there can be confusion with red-diesel if the customs dudes dip the tank.

Tesco, Asda, all the big supermarkets have their own brands and i'm sure there is nothing to pick and choose between them.

For convenience I buy several of the little 250ml bottles from Halfrauds.

With a trade card they work out cheaper than anywhere else.

Halfrauds strange discount policy doesn't give you any discount off the 1litre bottles so 4 X 250ml is actually cheaper.

It's not so difficult to get a trade card - you just need to be wearing oil-stained overalls and have dirty hands. :p

If questioned you just say thet you are self-employed and newly starting up in business. :D
