It's usually best to change the gearbox oil filter, the ZF boxes develop a lot of fine dust which clogs the valve blocks and causes the failure. I was told that the box wasn't designed to take the torque of the Range Rover engines with the weight of the car.

It doesn't make sense does it, in America the gm box rules🤷
