HI EVERYONE I AM NEW TO THE SIGHT AND ONLY ONE YEAR INTO LANDY OWNERSHIP.

I LOVE THE 90 I HAVE BUT WHEN I AM OUT IN THE RAIN MY FOOT WELLS FILL WITH WATER THAT SEEMS TO BE COMING FROM BEHIND THE DASH AND DOPPING ON MY RIGHT FOOT IS IT LIKLEY TO BE COMING FROM THE FRONT VENTS AND IF SO DOES ANYONE NO OF A SOLUTION?

I have the same problem on my 97 Defender, I think it's just a matter of just getting used to it as it is a feature of the Defender. I would recommend keeping an eye on the footwells and bulkhead though to ensure no rust is setting in.

I get puddles in the footwell passenger side, resolve the problem by going round corners a bit faster than normal, it usually finds a way out somewhere.

Anyone whos been in a car with pagan driving finds a way out somehow.:D :D :D :D :D

Oii Piggers!! when you said you wanted to go THROUGH the MacDonald Drive through I took you at yer word, I though YOU wanted to go THROUGH it OK?? it was an honest mistake and you ain't gonna let me ferget IS YER !!:D :D :D :D

Are your vents really closed? I had water coming in til I realised you have to really pull the levers up quite hard to properly seal the vents.

I have encountered this problem - but noticed that the air conditioning ducting under the dash gets cold enough for condensation to form on the outside. If this is not where the water is coming from then I am yet to work out if this is the root cause of my problem.

try hammerite on the vents... thats what the previous owner of my 90 did! i got them unstuck for the summer but now the passenger side one is leaking somewhere. atleast im dry :D could try some new foam seals on the vents.

I had this with my III & put a post on here about it. Best advice I got, which I then used was keep a carrier bag in the cubby box to wrap around my foot when it was hissing down. That worked, never did manage to find where the drip was coming from though!

Used to leave my throttle foot (the one I couldn't move very much obviously) FREEZING on a long winter run. Did used to make me larf though.

As it would appear no one has a sensable answer. You are probably right in that the water is coming in the front vents. I had the same problem on my 300 defender and the only way I could stop it was to fit Series/early 90/110 vent seals as the later vent seals fitted to the defenders are crap.

I have Water getting in the front wells under the carpet
it looks like to me that the carpet plugs that hold the carpet
down are not a great fit and maybe coming in there in fact
one carpet plug missing also found a bolt head in a hole no
nut on the other side well I thinks i might dry them out and
then put new carpet plugs in the holes and put same silcon seal
on them before I put them back......

BTW
I did have water coming in on top of the carpet and traced that
to when it rains my drive has a slight slope so all the water on
the roof runs down the gutter coming off the driver side and running
down the door what was happening the water run down the gap of
door at the front and came into the inside by a small gap where the
rubber seal changes direction at the bottom of the window so I
eased the rubber seal up a few inches in both directions and glued
it with contact glue and pushed the rubber right into the angle in
the door and that cured that......................

Hope you followed that rambling of a Mad Man
PS you must be mad to own a landy
