OK guys, after a couple of days of torrential rain, the headlining is wet all along the top of the passenger door and part way across the top of the passenger side of the windscreen.
In the opinion of the experts, would that sound like Sunroof drains? If so, what's the best way to clear them.
Do they block near the outlet or at the top. Bit of wire down them or am I likely to dislodge something doing that?
If anyone thinks it could be coming in elsewhere, I'm all ears!!
 
Sunroof drains are the first thing to check I use an air line on mine I give them a shot of air every now and then I fit a length of tube to the end of my air gun to access the top of the drains.
 
Unblock them where they come out. Front ones to rear of front wheel arches behind liners. Rear ones to front of rear wheel arches behind liners. DO NOT stick wire down them. If you puncture them with the wire you are in for a world of pain.
 
Agree with all about sunroof drains but suggest you may find that where the hoses fit on to them will have cracked so even clear hoses won't help.
 
If you're lucky you may be able to careful free the trim from around the sunroof and stick your head between the roof and the drooping lining with a torch held between your teeth and see if the problem's there.

What you really don't want to find is that you replace or repair one of them, put the headlining all back and then find that the other side starts leaking a couple of weeks later... not that I'm still seething about that!
 
Headlining isn't too bad just now but is on "the list" when it gets done, I will be replacing Sunroof drains but it's very much a summer job!
 
Check round the windscreen as well.

Given LettelWill's recent experience make sure the roof is still on too!
 
I recently had a leak in the mastic bonding stuff that holds the windscreen in.
My roof lining was only wet right at the very front in the corner, next to where it meets the A pillar trim. Not near the sunroof (although I did check the drains too).
Repair was just getting some glass bonding stuff from Halfords, and squeezing it along the top of the windscreen after taking the upper windscreen finisher off.

Interesting! The trim does flap around a bit at speed so maybe it is leaking there.
That said, from dry to being wet, it was stationary so maybe not. I'll definitely have a closer look at it though. Cheers.
 
Mine got wet when parked.
The problem is the rain tuns off the front of the roof, under the trim and then sits on the bonding. If there's a hole it'll find it's way in.
I'd get new trim clips before taking that trim off, they break very easily!

It's having a new screen next time it's in the UK so hopefully if that's the problem, it'll be solved. I'll get the drains blown out next week.

I have a similar problem but the drain in the problematic corner is clear (as tested with a watering can - good flow at the wheel arch) so I suspect the drain tube has either split or is not well connected. Before I go further does anyone know the size (internal diameter) of the drain tubing so I can get some in preparation for the fun...

Don't know the diameter, but the part number for front drain tube is EEH100620.
