Hi all,
I am new to this form and in need of help.
I have recently purchased a freelander to pull my caravan, to be fair it did a great job last week up in the Lakes, but just as we got home the wife found her feet to be getting wet. I have had a quick look at it this morning and found water dripping onto the passenger footwell. I can only imagine it is from the heater/air con matrix. Does any body know of a "self help" web site that I may get step by step instructions on how to fix it?

yup - here - do a search - it has been covered in detail before - its a complete dash strip - circa 8 hours or more - yu might have to dig deep.

Thanks mad hat man, I have seen the comments from various people, just looking to see if n e one had a web site with piccies and instructions????????

Just thought I would end this thread with the real reason why I had water in my footwell. Unlike all the advice I had been given, I stripped the whole dash out, took 5 hours last bank holiday monday, only to find that there is a small tube at the bottom of the air con unit, this had been accidentally knocked off. Therefore, all the condensate was going staright to the footwell and not through the bulkhead.
So, once again thanks for the advice!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 8 hours wasted.....

Don't tell us ya dint check the obvious first before posting on here and wasting all our valuable time. We've been worried sick fer ur.Stll at least the ext person too come along will know what to look fer if they have a similar problem. Oh just realised that cures already been covered load of time on this and other forums Perhaps ya shud have widened ur search parametres

What a complete dick!

You say in your first post that you had a quick look, well if it were only a pipe at the bottom your quick look wasn't a very good one was it!

You then come here asking for free advice and that is what you got, advice that didn't cost u a penny, advice offered up out of the goodness of the forum members heart, advice given as a possible solution not a guaranteed fix, a suggestion.

And was taking the dash apart completely in vain? after all you couldn't find the fault until you done it.

Was 8 hours a complete waste of time? If you had gone to the main dealer they would have charged you a fortune to find the problem and repair it. You received free advice and taking apart your dash lead to you finding the problem.

As you may of gathered, people like you give my arse a headache as you get valid free advice and then moan about it when you shoud be saying thankyou.

People like you almost expect a landyzone expert to pop round and repair it for nothing. Comments like yours only make others on this forum feel like not offering advice incase it's the wrong advice.

If your post had not received an answer you would be moaning that no one will help you. Perhaps your next 8 hours should be wasted looking for a forum designed for idiots like you, as clearly you feel this one is a waste of time.

and there I wa tryin ta be subtle and diplomatic. now ya've gone an ruined it fer me. Ah well I sppose ur right the guy is a PRICK

Come on peeps..........chill :)

A bit of Groove Armada - at the river would chill everyone out, you know, the song from Marks and Spencer food adverts 2007.

Ok so your man didnt need to take the dash out, but at least he'll know how to strip the interior if the heater matrix goes.

When I do something thoughtless I complain and swear at myself, being of the old school might be the reason I still act like that ?;) :D

But if you want a picture posted, just shout and I'll rush in......:D :D :D :D :D
