I know its an age old problem but has anyone found any way of stopping water getting on the Dist cap & ht leads on a V8. I already have the rubber cap on the Dist cap & coil. Also does anyone know if you can get a snorkle kit for a Discovery 1 carb model.

I heard somewhere you can drill a small hole in the dizzy and fit an air hose connected to a fish tank air pump, puts positive air presure in the cap.

Never done it though.. cos mines a doozel

I've seen something similar but using a coke bottle, a rubber sheet & a compressor bit of a Diving bell type contraption.

the other way to the one above is to silicon seal the dizzy cap down and run a vac hose from the inlet to the cap it sucks out any condensation (the normal cause of misfires once the ht leads have been waterproofed)

had the same problem in my espace bought a spray tin of ignition sealer granted had to respray every month or so but it worked for me. might do temporary until you get yourself sorted.most car ass shops sell it
