Hi there after fixing meany probloms on my 2.5td
(19j) recantley she has bin runing well with
No oil leaks for 3 days lol

But now wen the turbo kicks in it sprays oil
From the bar on the westgate valve can someone
Plese help I have no exprance with turbos
Can I just replace the valve or is it somtheng other
Thank you no (put a TDI in it plese)

Don't drive that until the problem is dealt with. It sounds like the oil feed is going in all the wrong places. Get someone who knows turbochargers to have a look at it.
 
I've just had it checked by a mate that billds engens
And turbos to Oder I was a right dunce it's blowing desal
Not oil into the turbo it's coming up the air pipe !!! From the

Tho and has given me one to recondition but dose aney one no
How much a exchange unit is I wonted to do it myself to save on cost
But was put off by the 70 parts that come in the kit to do it
Plese help !
 
£700 for an exchange unit jesus think I will be doing it myself at
That price !! It's £30 for the seals!

I am impressed with your enthusiasm and DIY spirit in trying to rebuild tht pump, not saying it cant be done, but there are a few things to think about.
Firstly, make sure you follow the right instructions, DPA and DPS pumps are different, and both come set up in different ways for different applications.
Second, I don't think rebuilding the pumps is easy, I have seen it done a number of times and would not care to tackle it myself, my memory is there are a number of special tools involved. Also, it is vitally important that you work in a clinically clean area, evan a tiny amount of dirt or contamination inside the pump will cause damage.
Thirdly, If you do rebuild it ok, how are you proposing to test and calibrate it, this needs tto be done on a special machine and they are expensive.
Sorry to be a killjoy but I would look into these things before you take it apart!
On a brighter note I think the estimate of £700 to recon DPS pump is far too high, although I am sure you coud pay that. Its a few years since Ive had a recon but I think that one was £320 plus vat. Talk to your local fuel injection place and see what they say, they will have a test machine too!
 
Does depend on the pump! I was quoted that for a 300 tdi one! A strip down at home is very brave! I'd just bolt a good secondhand one on personally. Make sure you know what you're getting in to cos stumbling in blind will cost you, most garages aren't equipped to do what you're talking about or at least to do it properly! So I'd think it'd be a case of suck it and see:D
