Hi all,
Quick question, never welded on a motor with an alarm system before what happens with the alarm when i disconect the battery to do the welding? Is there anything i should be aware of or is it just a case of reconnect it and away she goes?

Hi Dave. you will need the radio code when you couple the
battery back up. Beni

Hi Dave. Alarm will continue to sound off for a couple minutes before fading out. Best muffle the speaker under the bonnet with a rag first if you dont want to upset the neighbours

Cheers for that. when i reconnect the battery will i have to do anything to the alarm system, ie put codes in or resync the fobs its a 96 300tdi.

No, I havn't had to on my 96 300tdi

My battery frequently runs flat and every time i charge it and re-connect it i have to lock and unlock the drivers door. Mines a 95 300 TDi ES, don't know if it differs from other specs.
