Hi all,

As the weather is beginning to warm up I'm now thinking ahead to this summers camping trips, provided I can get the disco through its MOT. It's failed on the rusty sills, so I was wondering if anyone has had similar work done and can give a ball park price. I've asked around a few local places but they all wanted more than the car is worth to do the work.

Alternatively, any kind souls out there fancy taking on the job (on my drive in Widnes) for beer tokens and all the bacon you can eat. I've already cut out all the rot so it will just be a few plates or fitting those eazyon panels that go over everything or the box section way. Any suggestions as to which is best?

Many thanks
Ben

Box will last longer and probably quicker than faffing about with patches, keep well away from cover sills on anything, real cowboy botch job.

Thanks for that. I thought those eazyon panels would just trap the rot behind and make things worse. Box section it will be.

I was quoted £160 labour to have new outer cills fitted or £280 to have box section welded in. Hth

Get welder for 150ish or less.get box section for less than 75 quid.then weld it yourself

With Disco welding it is usually a case of 'think of a number and double it'!
There is always more rot than you think there will be - ask me how I know ...
