haha u wernt of had a tig in them days, just a decent set of rivets and a hand riveter haha ;)

for your info Bastid:p

Gas tungsten arc welding, after decades of development, was finally perfected in 1941, and gas metal arc welding followed in 1948, allowing for fast welding of non-ferrous materials but requiring expensive shielding gases.

P 51's and 47.s, corsair's

Ask Wammers about spitfires he was a test pilot, and Gems was Navigator

haha, my engineering knowladge isnt great on standard sizes of rivets, but thanks :D, need to change my gas bottle for me tig, will pure argon be ok for use on me landy and also other applicants, or is there any better gas as an all rounder

Argon is the best but expensive...... gives a cleaner weld. but most use a 80-20 mix of argon/ co2 cleaner and gives better penetration.

If wanting cheap than co2 will work but more splatter.

I would use 80/20 mix........ But Doc will come along and say co2 pub gas:p;)

At £8 a big ass bottle I'm not complaining ;) use full argon in the workshop or Argo mix as I'm not paying but when I'm at home CO2 and a little extra cleaning is fine by me

Probably not so bad if you have a boc account at work etc but for someone at home it ends up at like £50 a bottle from them! Or £25 if you go somewhere else where you bring and they fill

I'm happy enough with splatter anyway :p
