I have a 1988 Land Rover 110 2.5 diesel. The drive shafts & flanges are worn (there is play in all 4 when checking with grease caps off). Has been only 6-8 months since renewal. A few guys advised me to weld the half shaft ends to the drive flanges as this would eliminate the clunk when accelerating/decelerating. Is this a safe option ? or am i asking for even more serious trouble than just worn flanges !
