Makes no difference if its not list price its still the price you get charged if you go in there with a wad of cash on the day and don't get a receipt

I bought a 90 chassis from Richards about a month ago. Picked up in person and Paid £1200 cash. So as doc say's they do them minus the VAT.
Wish it was £900 though.

Thanks for telling me two days too late! I do want a receipt though...Looks like I'm going to get plenty of welding practice on the 88 instead, there's couple of sorry looking bits I noticed when crawling under it tonight!

you would have to be 100% sure you will not have problems if you are willing to part with that kind of money for no receipt. how would you stand on any warranty?

I think you've made the right decision re replacing the chassis. I'm almost at that point myself.
Given unlimited time and space, I'd love to re-make it myself. But, as you say, if it's supposed to be a fun project, and your welding experience is limited, better get the skills by building a trailer or similar. replacing a chassis is a fairly easy, nut and bolts project, and can be done quickly. the sooner you get her back on the road, the sooner you get the enjoyment of driving her! IMHO.

Due to the cost I would've had to compromise and find a better used chassis, maybe one that was in need of a more straightforward repair like a rear crossmember or something and had that repaired. Chassis swaps always turn into partial restos anyway lol! Good luck with it chap ..and take some pics of it done! ;)
