Had the drivers window open today, got out the car and closed the window... Nothing odd there, however noticed the window had raised very very slightly askew. Then I couldn't open the door from the outside or inside, all other doors fine. After about 3-4 mins door opened ok from the outside but still won't open from the inside. Going to take the door panel off in the morning see if anything obvious jumps out. Anyone got any pointers on where to start looking/testing?

The door opening/lock assembly is remarkably simple and logical. There's a rod from the outer handle, another from the cill button and a cable from the inner handle. I'd start looking at the actual lock to see if it's worked loose so that the one of the rods is interfering with the window or, in reverse, if one of the window channels has failed catching in part of the opening procedure. I have heard of rivets failing in the window mechanism so have a careful look for this. The lock and window regulator are simple to replace but you might have more 'fun' if it's a channel that's come adrift.

Yep, the rivet on the supporting arm of the winder mechanism commonly wears/works loose. Basically because its not up to the job of taking the load/stress. When I replaced my mechanism I used a small nut & bolt with spring washers. Maybe the arm is loose and fouling the cables.
You'll soon find out when you take the door card off.

+1 had this very problem and had to re rivet used stainless rivets and been good for about 3 yrs so far good luck

Well the cable to the internal latch has frayed and almost snapped, so new cable ordered and I noticed one rivet seems to be moving slightly so going to drill them out and replace them. Hopefully all will be well by tomorrow afternoon.
