Red

Ive sent you an overlay of what i know of in my area. You might wanna check the legality of it but ive been doing it for months now and not had a problem. Ive planned a route uot and put markers on each ford/lane. Tried to mark them on the name of each marker with 1-5 for severity. Let me know if that is what you were after? Has anyone else sent you much?

No your the first. I know a lot of people get very protective about the lanes they know of Got a load of flack off a couple of Glass members on another forum. telling me I shouldn't advertise the location of a lane. As "then anyone can drive them". I thought that was the idea in the 1st place. We lost most of the green lanes we had because no one drove them in the first place.

I agree Red. There is a lane close to the route i planned that was very extreme. Because of this no one ever used it apart from the scramblers. Now if has totally overgrown and has been downgraded to a footpath.

Also, there are a few lanes that people have blocked off with farm machines/bails of hay as they feel it is their right to do so because it runs next to their house. This ****es me right off. As at the end of the day, most of us have to live next to a public road and non of us have the right to block it off, just because we dont like vehicals going down them!

I think a lot of laners are concerned that they are going to anger these people who live by lanes and that they will be the cause of the lane being downgraded. I think this is bollox. If a lane is a public byway then the more people who use them the more of a case there is for it to be kept a byway!
Although i am always polite to people when laning. If a lane has public right of way, then i am going down it!
